John Reid, Gregory Terrace, 1932-39

One of the first Australians to be taken as a Prisoner of War in Rangoon in 1942 and one of the first prisoners to return to Australia. John joined the RAAF in 1940 as a pilot and flew Blenheim bomber missons over Burma when he was shot down and taken prisoner.

Major General Michael Keating graduated from Duntroon in 1967 with the Sword of Honour. Herved for three years with the 4th Battalion Royal Australian Regiment, including operational duty in South Vietnam. He was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in 1993 in recognition of his service to the ADF.

Paul Tunn, Gregory Terrace, 1934-39

Paul Tunn flew 36 operations as a wireless operator in a Halifax bomber over Europe between June and November 1944 and survived. He was awarded the Chevalier dans l’Ordre National de la Legion d’Honneur (Legion of Honour medal) for his war service in the skies over France.

Michael is a retired senior officer of the Australian Army with over 30 years service and is one of Australia's most decorated military soldiers. He currently occupies a senior position within the Army of the United Arab Emirates as Commander of the UAE Presidential Guard, that includes both conventional and special forces units.
