2024 GPS Rowing Championships – 102nd Edition

The Head of the River Rowing Championships is an esteemed annual event in the GPS Sporting calendar.

The event often garners significant attention from rowing enthusiasts, coaches, and spectators, showcasing the pinnacle of rowing skill and athleticism. 

The GPS Head of the River Rowing Championships serves as a platform for showcasing the talent and dedication of school boys rowers, while also fostering camaraderie and sportsmanship among participants. Additionally, it provides an opportunity for spectators to witness thrilling races and celebrate the achievements of the rowing community.

With its rich history and tradition, the Head of the River Rowing Championships continues to be a highlight of the rowing calendar.

Two trophies are on the line for the 7 GPS Schools.  The GPS Premiership (Old Boys' Cup) and the Head of the River (O'Connor Cup).

OLD BOYS’ CUP
The GPS Rowing Championship (Old Boys’ Cup) is awarded at the Head of the River Regatta for the highest point score calculated.

THE O’CONNOR CUP
The O’Connor Cup is awarded to the winning crew in the Open 1st VIII race, also known as the “Head of the River”.
